Working for the future of Bedford & Kempston

Please note: This site covers the period that I was a Member of Parliament from May 2010 to June 2017.

I am so deeply saddened by the death of Jo Cox, MP for Batley and Spen today and feel great sorrow for her family.

MPs rightly wish to be open, to meet and to talk with all the people they represent – a valued feature of our democracy.

Jo has made the ultimate sacrifice; a sacrifice she should never have had to make.

  • This dreadful occurrence has left us all shocked and saddened by Jo’s untimely death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jo’s family, husband and children.

We are grateful to our MPs for their time and they should be allowed to give this without fear of recrimination.

  • The murder of Jo Cox sends shockwaves to all of us who who respect the valuable tolerance and compassion of our MP’s doing their duty.

While the loss of Joe to her family and freinds is not replaceable I hope her ultimate sacrifice will make them feel proud that she was a beacon for British Democracy today and will be forever.

From myself and on behalf of Shaheedi Sports Council Bedford, I send my deepest sympathy to Joe’s family.

    Gen.Secretary,
